Hi, my name is Jack Bishop. I grew up in Arkansas, went to film school in Chicago and have been working in Los Angeles for 15 years as a writer, director and editor. I make mostly horror and comedy stuff. I started my career directing internet sketch videos at Funny Or Die and through my work there was lucky enough to get representation and move into the television and commercial world.
For much of my career I worked alongside filmmaking partner Justin Nijm as directing-duo 'Jack & Justin' with whom I co-directed countless viral short films, including Hulu's hit horror short THE HUG which gained over 11 million views, spawned thousands of reaction videos and is widely considered to be the first animatronic horror film. In 2017 another horror short I co-wrote and directed called THE ROAD aired live during a Dodger's baseball game and recieved hundreds of complaints by angry parents who's children were frightened by it. In 2016 I co-directed the entire first season of IFC's beloved horror comedy TV series STAN AGAINST EVIL and returned in 2017 to direct half of season 2.
Since 2013 I’ve written and directed over 50 short films and pilots for places like Funny Or Die, Adult Swim, 20th Century Digital, Hulu and Comedy Central. My viral internet short film "DENNIS QUAID'S ON SET FREAK OUT" won the Webby Award for Best Comedy Short and was featured on numerous news and talk shows, including Jimmy Kimmel Live! I’ve also directed dozens of commercials and branded content for clients like AT&T, Direct TV, Geico, Bic Razors & Tic Tac.

I also make a living as an editor, having cut multiple features and verticals, countless commercials and music videos, and internet sketches and social content. I don’t included any of those in my ‘Work’ section, but you can find them all listed on my IMDb.
I also co-host a movie podcast called CINEMA POSSESSED with my wife and producing partner Corey Clifford where we talk movies with guest filmmakers and comedians. It’s the best thing in the world and you should listen to it.
